Image description

German ‘Teller’ anti-tank mine, 1943 circa. The Teller was the German Army’s standard anti-tank mine during World War Two (1939-1945). It contained 11lb of High Explosive and was detonated when a protruding pin was forced into the mine due to the pressure of a tank passing over it. Some models of the mine were also designed to magnetically attach to an enemy vehicle and detonated with a time-based ignitor.
